L’image des voyageurs est encore vive et a enflammé l’imagination de l’artiste yukonnais Halin de Repentigny. En 2000, il entreprit de construire, avec l’aide de Rock Boivin et d’autres partenaires, une réplique exacte du canot de Robert Campbell. Ils utilisèrent cette réplique pour pagayer sur la rivière Pelly et le fleuve Yukon et recréèrent ainsi le voyage historique de l’explorateur du XIXe siècle. |
The image of the voyageurs is a vivid and an enduring one that sparked the creative imagination of Yukon artist Halin de Repentigny. In the year 2000 he set out along with Rock Boivin and others, to build an exact replica of Robert Campbell’s canoe. They paddled the canoe down the Pelly and Yukon rivers, recreating Campbell’s historic nineteenth century exploration. |
