Le missionnaire oblat Marcel Bobillier, connu par tous sous le nom de Père Bob, arriva au Yukon en 1939 et y resta jusqu’à sa mort 47 ans plus tard. Il écrivit un livre sur Émilie Tremblay intitulé Une pionnière au Yukon, un manuscrit sur ses propres expériences et un journal de 6 000 pages qui relate près d’un demi-siècle de vie au Yukon. Il a également traduit en français trente-deux des poèmes de Robert Service. Toutes ces réalisations lui valurent de recevoir le premier prix du patrimoine du Yukon en 1977.

Oblate Missionary Marcel Bobillier, known to everyone as Father Bob, came to the Yukon in 1939 and stayed until his death 47 years later. He wrote a book about Emilie Tremblay called Une pionnière au Yukon, as well as a manuscript about his own experiences and a 6,000-page journal that chronicles nearly half a century of Yukon life. He also translated thirty-two of Robert Service’s poems into French. These accomplishments earned him the first Yukon Heritage Award in 1977.
