Published Sources

The Yukon Archives Library includes a great variety of information sources that may be of use in your genealogy project. These include pamphlets, books, newspapers, newsletters, periodicals, indexes, town directories and telephone books. The following are but a few examples of the types of published sources that genealogists have found useful.

Alaska-Yukon Directory and Gazetteer The Klondike Gold Rush directories provide information on the communities that existed during this time period. The directories also include the names of residents and businesses that existed in each community. This page highlights the community of Grand Forks. It provides background information on the community and lists some of the residents and businesses. Alaska-Yukon Directory and Gazetteer, 1902, p. 479.

Northern Lights Newsletter The students and staff of Chooutla School produced a quarterly newsletter that provided information on student activities at the school. This particular page includes names of students arriving and leaving the school as well as a section, called the "Diocesan notes", which highlighted the work of the Anglican Church ministers in the Yukon communities.
